About Us and Our Policies

ABOUT US/ OUR POLICIES

It is our aim to provide care and education that will enable all of the children enrolled to become successful learners and confident individuals.  We already understand that parents wish to have their children cared for in the very best facility possible.  With this in mind we will strive to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for young children, babies and toddlers, where best practice is paramount.

Under the guidance of fully qualified and experienced nursery nurses, we will aim to provide for all the physical, emotional, social and educational needs of children from 6 months to 5 years.  The staff will have flexibility, patience, understanding and genuine care for young children, putting the children’s welfare and happiness first at all times.

For many small children, attending nursery will be the first real experience, away from their families.  In order to make this an enjoyable experience for them, we will create a caring, friendly and homely atmosphere where their first experience of separation will be a positive one and will pave the way for their future learning.

Orangutans will be committed to establishing quality relationships with parents based on mutual respect and trust.  We believe that parents are the primary educators of their children and should be involved in their child’s experiences and development.  We will welcome and value parents and try to create excellent communication links to ensure stability for the children between the home and nursery.

Our nursery is open from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday.  We close only on bank holidays and during the Christmas holiday season from 2.00 pm on Christmas eve and re-open the first working day after New year’s day.

Orangutans provides an open plan environment, unlike any other nursery in the local area.  We have a large babies and toddlers room downstairs and a large preschool room upstairs.  The children enjoy the space to move around freely without restriction, accessing the resources available to them.

Caring for your children is more than a business, it’s about trust.  That’s why at Orangutans we operate CCTV to provide video coverage of our operations to assist us in protecting the premises, the children and the staff.  However we must point out that we do not offer a webcam service.

Communication and forming parent partnerships

Orangutans will provide regular news and information to parents through our ‘Website News’ section.  Parents will be notified of new ‘News’ via email.

We also offer a text messaging service which is set up for all parents and carers and is clearly identifiable as it has a unique registered name ‘Orangutans’ and it operates in the same way as the primary and secondary schools service which some parents and carers may be familiar with.  Text messages will serve as a reminder and information service.

Verbal communication and written diary entries are provided to parents at the end of each day their child attends Nursery.

Parent feedback questionnaires will be issued using ‘FreeOnlineSurveys’ one of the UK’s leading survey providers and a nationally recognised company.  We will update parents about this on our news section.

If you have any suggestions on how we could improve parent partnerships then please get in touch at info@orangutanschildcare.com

Orangutans believe that our practitioners best practice sets positive and supportive examples to encourage and enable child development in a safe and secure way.  With this in mind please contact us for upto date copies of our policies, which can be provided upon request.
