Tooth brushing in Nursery

Staff will follow the tooth brushing guidelines and hygiene and storage procedures set out in our Tooth Brushing Policy which will be implemented from 1st September 2015 and encouraged by the ‘Designed to Smile’ programme.

Tooth brushing will take place after mealtimes as appropriate, with all children.

All children will be supervised whilst brushing their teeth.

Tooth brushing at Home

Parents are encouraged to continue the regular tooth brushing routine at home.

Parents can access information and advice about tooth brushing and oral health from staff at the Nursery.

Nutrition

It is our policy to provide a menu for children with medically diagnosed food allergies, food intolerances, and religious needs.

Over 75% of our dishes are homemade and freshly prepared using tried and tested traditional recipes we know children will love and there’s always seasonal fresh fruit, salad and vegetables available daily along with a choice of Milk or Water.

Orangutans is passionate about serving wholesome and nutritional food ensuring we use only high quality raw ingredients.  We are committed to using local and regional suppliers in order to minimise food miles and support the local economy.

We believe that healthy foods produce healthy, happy children. To help us achieve this we employ a full-time nursery chef who prepares all meals on the premises using the finest ingredients

Orangutans snack and meal times are an important part of the nursery day. Eating is a social time for children and adults and supports childrens learning about healthy eating. We promote healthy eating using resources and materials. At snack and meal times, we aim to provide nutritious food, which meets the children’s individual dietary needs.
